George H. W. Bush was president of the United States, the Chicago Bulls won their first NBA Championship, the World Wide Web was released to the public, “Hammer Pants” were a popular fashion trend and the Dow Jones Industrial Average topped 3,000 for the first time.
It was also the year Vaughn and Laurie met on the campus of Baylor University in Waco, TX.
Fast Forward thirty years (and counting) later…
We have kept the faith, grown into a family of six, weathered the storms of life and through it all enjoy spending time together, especially while cooking. In 2020, when heart disease hit close to home, we examined ways to improve our health and one way was to reduce sodium. We began making changes to our cooking. A family favorite meal was Tex-Mex tacos - which we discovered was one of the highest sodium content meals 😨. The market didn’t have great tasting options for a salt free taco seasoning so we decided to create our own. So in 2022, the seventh member of the Taylor family, TX'INz Food, was born. The perfect blend of Texas’s (Vaughn’s birthplace) and Indiana’s (Laurie’s birthplace) cooking styles steeped in many generations of a love of cooking. Through trial and error, we came to realize you don’t have to sacrifice flavor and good food doesn’t have to be weighed down with salt. So from our hearts to yours, Savor the Tx’INz Difference!
